Do Indians need a visa for Bali?
Yes — Indian passport holders need a visa for Bali: Indonesia's e-Visa on Arrival, listed as the "Visitor Visa" on the official portal evisa.imigrasi.go.id. It costs IDR 500,000, is single-entry, valid for 90 days from issue, and allows a 30-day stay from arrival. Passports must be valid for at least six months from arrival; longer stays need an extension at an Indonesian Immigration Office.

Is the All Indonesia arrival declaration mandatory for Bali?
Yes — since 1 October 2025, every international arrival in Indonesia, including at Bali's Ngurah Rai airport, must submit an electronic arrival declaration through the official All Indonesia app or website, allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id. It can be filed from three days before arrival. Travellers who skip it are processed manually at the immigration counter instead of through the automated gates.

Do Indian tourists have to pay the Bali tourist levy?
Yes — every foreign tourist visiting Bali, Indian citizens included, pays a one-time Bali Tourist Levy of Rp150,000 per person under Bali provincial regulation. It is paid cashless, online at lovebali.baliprov.go.id before arrival or at counters at Bali's airport and seaport, covers the whole visit until you leave Indonesia, and a QR-coded voucher is issued as proof.

Can you use UPI or Indian rupees in Bali?
Not yet — pay in Indonesian rupiah. Bank Indonesia requires rupiah for every cash and non-cash transaction in Indonesia, and its Bali office confirmed in June 2026 that this covers tourism. UPI will work only once the UPI–QRIS link that India and Indonesia announced in July 2026 goes live; both sides are aiming for the end of 2026.
