Day-wise itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Jaipur
Transfer to your hotel or heritage haveli. Evening at Chokhi Dhani or a quiet dinner, depending on your pace.

Day 2
Jaipur
Amber Fort in the morning before the heat, then the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. Afternoon in the bazaars.

Day 3
Jaipur to Jodhpur
A long drive west, breaking at the Ajmer dargah or Pushkar if you would like. Overnight Jodhpur.

Day 4
Jodhpur
Mehrangarh fort, which is the best-kept fort in the state, then Jaswant Thada and the old blue town below the walls.

Day 5
Jodhpur to Jaisalmer
Into the Thar. Afternoon arrival, evening walk in the living fort where families still live inside the walls.

Day 6
Jaisalmer and the dunes
Patwon ki Haveli and Gadisar lake, then out to Sam or Khuri for camel rides, folk music and a night in a desert camp.

Day 7
Jaisalmer to Udaipur
The long transfer south, with a stop at Ranakpur Jain temple and its 1,444 carved pillars. Overnight Udaipur.

Day 8
Udaipur
City Palace, Jagdish temple and Saheliyon ki Bari, then a boat on Lake Pichola as the light goes.

Day 9
Depart Udaipur
Transfer to Udaipur airport.
