Day 1
Arrive Tokyo
Transfer from Narita or Haneda. Evening at Shinjuku or the Shibuya crossing.

Tokyo
Meiji Shrine, Harajuku and Omotesando, then Asakusa and Senso-ji, and the Tokyo Skytree after dark.

Day 3
Tokyo — DisneySea or the city
A free day for Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, teamLab, Akihabara or the Tsukiji outer market.

Day 4
Tokyo to Hakone
Into the Fuji region. The Hakone loop — ropeway over Owakudani, a pirate ship on Lake Ashi, and an onsen in the evening.

Hakone to Kyoto
Shinkansen west, with Fuji from the right-hand window on a clear day. Afternoon at Kiyomizu-dera and the Higashiyama lanes.

Kyoto
Fushimi Inari at first light, then Arashiyama bamboo grove, the Togetsukyo bridge and Kinkaku-ji, the golden pavilion.

Nara day trip
Todai-ji and the Great Buddha, Kasuga Taisha and the deer park, returning to Kyoto in the evening.

Kyoto to Osaka
Short hop to Osaka. Osaka Castle, Dotonbori and the street food at Kuromon market.

Depart Osaka
Transfer to Kansai International.
