    Arrive Munich

    Munich

    The Residenz, the English Garden and Nymphenburg Palace. Afternoon at BMW Welt or the Deutsches Museum.

  3. Day 3

    Neuschwanstein

    South to the castle Ludwig II built and barely lived in, with Hohenschwangau below it.

  4. Day 4

    The Romantic Road

    North through Fussen and Augsburg to Rothenburg — a walled town that survived the war almost untouched.

  5. Day 5

    Rothenburg to Nuremberg

    The old town, the castle, and the documentation centre if you want the harder history.

  6. Day 6

    Berchtesgaden

    South-east to the Alps. Konigssee by electric boat, and the Eagle's Nest when the road is open.

  7. Day 7

    Back to Munich

    Return via Salzburg if you would like a border crossing. Last evening in a beer hall.
